"Getting away with it", last album of James is their best i think.i liked it a lot because it was so different than their previous albums . it was more alternative...i feel that their sound in Getting away with it is more familiar to me and closer to my style!
James got themselves famous with songs closer to the pop genre, such as laid, sit down, come home, she's a star. I believe that "Laid" is their best album
the fact that they became famous through those songs doesn't necessarily mean that they are their best ones...
Brian Eno, one of the best and most successful music producers colaborated with them in "Laid". The result was praised by most critics
then why was this album ignored in the U.K?even in america the sales of it were seriously low.
My favourite James album is "Seven", since it contains great trakcs such as Seven, Sound,Ring The Bells, Born Of Frustration. Many said that it was just a failed attempt for a rock turn of the group but i believe that it was a very good album.
John, between "laid" and "getting away with it" which one you think is the best?
These two albums, are the signatures of different eras. "Laid" established them as a great group and "getting away with it" was their last attempt
as a group. After that they dispersed. These two albums differ very much from one another.
